Some other things you might be thinking
If you want to understand your business better, work more effciently and support decisions with data driven insights then it’s for you.
We tend to work with companies with turnovers of between £500k to £15m although have operated either side of that.
Ultimatley businesses need :
- Fast accurate data to aid decision making.
- Someone to help them interpret that data and tell the story of what’s happenng.
- Someone to build a strategy based on the current position.
If you as a business owner don’t have any of the above from your existing team then we can help provide it. There’s always a better way.
Yes. But you probably want to know more than that.
An FD for an SME may cost between £90k-£150k when you factor in salary, employers NI and Pension costs (plus you also need to actually find the right person). That’s up to around £650 per working day after allowing for holidays. It’s unquestionably money well spent for the right person but you then need to question if you really have enough work to keep them busy 5 days a week. Every. Single. Week.
But what if you could just pay for the work you needed? Suddenly seems a lot more cost effective!
Even though the salaries are lower (but still scary in the current market) the principle applies with Bookkeepers and Managament Accountants. Only pay for what you need with Elements
The short answer is no.
We’ve very consciously made the decision not to offer traditional accountancy services.
We can recommend great accountants based on what you need or we can work closely with your existing accountant but it’s just not our thing and never has been. We’re focussed on looking forwards.
I’m sure they do – If you can hear them from under the giant mountain of tax returns and complaince work that will always be their priority.
Every accountant on linkedin these days loves to tell you they’re not a traditional accountant and they’re more of a business partner. The truth is it’s a very different skill set and while they will understand the basic principles they probably won’t have the time or real world commercial experiance to give you a world class service.
Most accountants have worked in accountancy firms for their whole careers. It’s very different to working as finance leaders in the real world.
It’s a bit like asking your GP to do knee surgery on you. I’m sure they studied the basics but let me see the specialist please.
